As a citizen of Edmonton, the City believes you know your neighbourhood best. With the knowledge, skills, lived experiences and assets within your neighbourhoods, the City is here to support you to come together and achieve positive change.

Together we can see Edmontonians empowered and engaged to foster Edmonton as a connected, inclusive and livable city. 

The City works as a team of Neighbourhood Resource Coordinators, Project Managers and Revitalization Coordinators to build social capital and facilitate community development in Neighbourhoods using the following programs and services.

Neighbourhood Resource Coordinators

Formerly known as Community Recreation Coordinators (CRCs), Neighbourhood Resource Coordinators are a touch point for every neighbourhood in the City. This position serves as a foundation for community development in neighbourhoods.

Creating Connections

The City provides intentional programs to facilitate relationship building between neighbours in the communities they call home.

Developing Neighbourhood Parks and Amenities

Park benches, playgrounds, community league halls, neighbourhood parkland and amenities are critical for bringing people together and creating recreational and social opportunities for communities.

Funding Opportunities for Neighbourhoods

The City connects neighbourhoods, individuals, non-profit organizations and community leagues to funding for events and programs in neighbourhoods.

Planning Community Programs and Neighbourhood Events

The City provides support and resources to assist you with planning your neighbourhood programs and events.

Strengthening Neighbourhood Groups

Strong neighbourhood groups are essential to thriving local communities. The City provides the following services to nurture the ability of neighbourhood groups to function at a high capacity.

  • Facilitate neighbourhood strategic planning
  • Support capacity building for neighbourhood groups
  • Connecting people, processes and ideas
  • Enhancing neighbourhood livability
  • Enabling economic development
