Adult, youth and senior paper tickets with an expiry date of December 31, 2023, remain valid until December 31, 2024. Family/Day passes with an expiry date of 2023 will also be accepted as valid fare until the end of 2024.
ETS will not be selling adult, youth and senior paper tickets with a 2024 expiry date. Riders will still be able to purchase adult, youth and senior 10-pack ticket strips with a December 31, 2023, expiry date at ETS sales outlets and the online ETS store in 2024. Family/Day passes with a 2024 expiry date will be available for sale.
ETS will continue to accept 2023 tickets as valid fare in 2024. Although ETS paper tickets and passes are still available for purchase, they will eventually be phased out and replaced with Arc in the future.
Fare products can be purchased online, at the Edmonton Service Centre, at ticket vending machines located at all LRT stations, and sales outlets located in many convenient locations throughout the city.
Sales outlets do not set their own prices for ETS fare products. The price of ETS products are set by City Council in conjunction with ETS. All sales outlets are expected to abide by these set prices. For concerns about retailers selling ETS products at non-standard prices, please collect detailed information and call 311 to report the concern.
Fare product orders are mailed using Canada Post. If you select the "No Signature" option, orders are sent using regular mail. If you request a "Signature Required" option for delivery, we use the XpressPost service, which provides package tracking and signed delivery confirmation. If no one is home to sign for your delivery, Canada Post will leave a notice card with information on where to pick up the order. Please allow a minimum of 5 business days to receive your pass, particularly if using regular mail/no signature. Please also ensure you provide a complete mailing address including suite, room or office numbers.
While the signature requirement provides greater security, it may not be convenient for all customers. If you are not at home to provide a signature, a card will be left in your mailbox indicating which post office you can visit to provide a signature and receive your package. The option to waive the delivery signature provides greater convenience, but less security. Choosing this option means that your pass order will be left in your mailbox, and any lost or stolen passes will be your personal responsibility; your purchase will not be refunded by ETS if it goes missing.
Passes for the following month are available on the first Tuesday of the previous month. Only one pass month is available at a time through the online store. (For example: February 2022 passes are available for purchase until Monday January 31, 2022. March 2022 passes become available for purchase on Tuesday February 1, 2022.)
After placing your order, you will receive 2 email confirmations. One is an order receipt with the details of your order, and the other is a purchase receipt confirming that your credit card was charged. If you do not receive these emails, contact us at email@example.com to confirm if your transaction completed successfully.
No, only regular fare products are accepted on ETS buses and trains; receipts will not be accepted by transit operators or security as valid fare. (Note: boarding without a valid fare could subject you to a fine of $250. Allow at least 5 days to receive your order in the mail.)
Your personal information will be collected under the authority of section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act for use in the administration of Edmonton Transit Service programs including the online purchase of Transit Passes and Tickets. It is protected by the privacy provisions of the Act. If you have any questions regarding the collection, use or disclosure of this information, contact the Online Store Administrator at 780-496-5752.
