Paper tickets with an expiry date of December 31, 2023, and Family/Day passes with an expiry date of 2024, will not be accepted as valid fare on ETS in 2026. Until March 31, 2026, riders can exchange their unused single ETS paper tickets and Family/Day passes for Arc single-use tickets at the Edmonton Service Centre.
The Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) offers many fare options for riding transit around the Edmonton region.

Riders 65 years of age or older automatically qualify for seniors' pricing but must apply for a concession fare. Seniors who require a low income annual pass must apply.

Children 12 and under ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying rider (youth, adult or senior). Children riding on their own must pay a cash fare or use an Arc card or ticket.

Arc multi-day passes are valid only on ETS buses and LRT. They are not valid on Edmonton International Airport Route 747 or regional transit services, including partner agencies using Arc.

The Arc multi-day pass is valid for 3 or 5 consecutive days after the first tap. Unused Arc multi-day passes are valid for 1 year after purchase.

Arc is the Edmonton region’s electronic fare payment system. It includes an Arc card and Arc tickets riders tap when entering and exiting buses and the LRT.

Note: Arc period passes such as youth passes provided to students through school boards (excluding U-Pass), Providing Accessible Transit Here (PATH), ETS@Work, and senior subsidy program as well as the senior's annual cap are only applicable on ETS routes. These programs may require riders to apply for them. Check if you are eligible by visiting Fare Assistance Programs.
Arc cards are available for purchase at all the locations on the map.
90-minute and 24-hour Arc tickets can be purchased at Arc fare vending machines at LRT stations, some transit centres and in-person service centres.
3 and 5-day Arc multi-day passes can only be purchased at Arc fare vending machines at LRT stations, the West Edmonton Mall and Mill Woods transit centres and the Edmonton Service Centre.
Sales outlets do not set their own prices for Arc fare products. The price of Arc products are set by City Council in conjunction with ETS. All sales outlets are expected to abide by these set prices. For concerns about retailers selling Arc products at non-standard prices, please collect detailed information and call the Arc call centre at 1-888-302-0001 to report the concern.

Arc tickets and multi-day passes are valid from the time they are first tapped on the validator.
Using Arc Tap to Pay
Tap your physical or digital credit or debit card on the validator when entering and exiting buses and LRT platforms to ensure you are charged the correct fare.
Exact change is required when paying with cash on ETS buses.
Transfers can be made between buses and the LRT on a single fare.
Riders must always have proof of payment when riding ETS.
Until March 31, 2026, riders can exchange their unused single ETS paper tickets and Family/Day passes for Arc single-use tickets at the Edmonton Service Centre. Since any tickets with a 2023 expiration date are valid until December 31, 2025, we encourage people to use their remaining tickets before the end of the year rather than exchanging them.
Unused tickets can only be exchanged; refunds will not be given for unused tickets.
Transit riders can continue to pay for trips with Arc cards, Arc tickets and cash. There are also reduced fare caps for youth, seniors and low-income riders.
There are many ways to get an Arc card:
Riders can purchase 90-minute or 24-hour single-use Arc tickets and regional fare products at the Arc vending machines or in-person service centres.
Buy your Arc multi-day pass at an Arc vending machine in Edmonton. Vending machines are located at all LRT stations, as well as the West Edmonton Mall and Mill Woods transit centres. You can buy your Arc multi-day pass with cash, debit or credit.
You can request a refund online or through the Arc call centre. You will be required to go to an in-person service centre to receive your cash or credit refund and your Arc account will be closed.
Accounts are closed for your protection. To prevent fraudulent activity, any request for a refund is for the full amount remaining in the account and will result in the card being blocked and the account being closed.
Partial refunds are not able to be given. Refund requests are only able to be processed for the full amount remaining in your account.
You can request a reimbursement through the Arc call centre. You will be required to provide details about the request and it may be investigated before approved.
Approved reimbursements will go directly back onto your Arc card.
As Arc is available to all transit riders, ETS paper passes and tickets are no longer available for purchase and are not accepted as valid fare.

Riders who are blind or has low vision and who possess a CNIB ID card can use that card as a transit pass on all ETS services including routes providing service outside the City of Edmonton. Use of a white cane or service animal alone does not qualify an individual for this fare service - the CNIB card must be shown to the bus operator upon boarding.

Children 12 and under ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying rider (youth, adult, senior).
Can a youth accompany children 12 and under?
Yes, a fare paying youth can accompany children 12 and under.
How many children 12 and under can accompany one fare paying rider?
There is no limit (for example, a teacher could bring an entire class). However, it is expected that the rider will be able to supervise all accompanied children properly.
The program demonstrates the City’s commitment to making Edmonton a more child-friendly place that recognizes the needs of children and families. Providing free transit for children 12 and under encourages citizens to engage with their communities and participate in community events, recreation and school activities as a family.
Edmonton Transit Service works with each municipality to coordinate transit services. However, each municipality has authority over their own fare policy since transit fares help offset the operating costs and the tax levy that subsidizes the service provided.
The fares for cross-boundary transit trips are typically higher than local fares because of the longer distances and the higher operating costs to provide these services. For more information on each region, see Regional Service.
Route 747 is provided in partnership with the Edmonton Airport Authority. The transit fares charged on this route help offset the operating costs. The rates are comparable to other regional commuter fares.
For business travellers looking for a receipt for transportation costs to the airport, we recommend you purchase an Arc ticket. 90-minute or 24-hour Arc tickets can be purchased at the Arc fare vending machines located in transit centres and LRT stations.
Route 747 operates under a different fare structure than other ETS routes. All Route 747 passengers must pay the $5 fare, including children under the age of 12.
For Route 560 to Spruce Grove, children 5 and under may ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying rider.
