The Lois Hole Library, located in southwest Edmonton, has been built to LEED® Standards and has been awarded LEED® Silver Certification. It was named after the former Lieutenant Governor Lois Hole and reflects her extraordinary support of increased literacy in our community and love of the natural environment.

Innovation in Design for exemplary performance in water reduction
Lois Hole Library achieves significant reduction in water usage compared to a standard building.
In addition to low flow fixtures throughout the library, reduced water consumption is achieved through stormwater management strategies that harvest stormwater for use in toilet flushing, and eliminating the need for irrigation of landscaping by using only native and drought resistant plants.
