Facilitated by a Program Leader, guided plantings are fun, inclusive and hands-on educational opportunities in nature. This group volunteer opportunity is perfect for team building, families, students and community groups! All safety protocols communicated must be followed while volunteering.
Root for Trees provides:
Guided shifts are scheduled Tuesday to Saturday in the summer and fall months. Please note that shifts are subject to availability.
Shift Cancelation Policy: The City of Edmonton retains the right to modify or cancel the shift in the case of inclement weather and/or public safety. Registrants will be notified of any changes to the event status.

Each scheduled shift will have a preassigned location. For the 2022 season, guided sites are still in the process of being confirmed. When booking your shift, please choose a quadrant of the city you would like to volunteer in. Once our sites are confirmed, Root for Trees will send you a map of the specific planting location with detailed instructions of how to get there and where to park closer to your expected volunteer shift.
Help us plan for your volunteer shift. An expected attendance number is required during sign-up for your volunteer shift.
A minimum group size of 10 people is required to participate. Sign-ups are limited to a maximum of 30 people per group at this time.

Arrive on, or slightly before, the start time of your scheduled shift to get the most out of your volunteer experience.
All the planting supplies will be ready on site. Please wear comfortable clothing, dress for the weather and bring a bottle of water.
All volunteers entering the planting area must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. If proper footwear is not worn, volunteers will be unable to participate.
