The Health City Initiative was first announced in the Mayor’s 2016 State of the City address as a new strategy to propel Edmonton as a leader in health-care innovation.
This plan aims to increase access to capital for local health sector companies and accelerate the commercialization of new technologies and products, like the iTClamp, created right here in Edmonton.
Where We Are Today
Since the announcement, local and national interest has grown and a steering committee was formed to ensure representation from academia, health providers, venture capital, multi-national and international organizations, small and medium enterprises and innovation-based organizations.
