Electric Vehicle Strategy cover page

Electric vehicles (EVs) have an important role to play in supporting Edmonton's Community Energy Transition Strategy. EVs can help reduce the environmental impacts from personal transportation, impacts such as climate change, energy use and air quality.

As part of the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change, the Federal Government will be working with other levels of government to develop a Canada-wide strategy for zero-emission vehicles.

Edmonton's Electric Vehicle Strategy was approved in September 2018. Focusing on plug-in light duty EVs (both hybrid electric and battery electric), the strategy identifies how we can make it easier for people to own an electric vehicle and ultimately help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
