Description/Purpose
The Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board (EMRB) was established on October 26, 2017 under the Modernized Municipal Government Act and EMRB Regulation 189/2017.
In addition to implementing the provincially approved Edmonton Metropolitan Region Growth Plan, the EMRB is tasked with creating a regional Metropolitan Servicing Plan.
The EMRB has 13 members including representatives from the regional municipalities with populations of 5,000 or more.
Membership includes the Mayors from the Municipalities of: Beaumont, Devon, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Leduc County, Morinville, Parkland County, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Stony Plain, Strathcona County and Sturgeon County. The Board Chair and a Provincial Representative also serve as non-voting members.
