Laurel Green is quickly becoming one of Edmonton’s most popular green communities. The high aspirations of the area are matched by an equally high level of construction activity. The City organized a Neighbourhood Meet & Green to discuss rules and good building practices while fostering positive community relations.
Laurel Green - Stage 10 (Sold Out)
The City-owned lots in Laurel Green will demonstrate the City of Edmonton’s commitment to The Way We Grow and The Way We Green by incorporating sustainable design and environmentally sensitive building practices in a variety of home types. All homes built on the City owned lots in Laurel Green must be constructed for future installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels. In addition, all buyers and builders will be required to comply with the Sustainability and Architectural Design Guidelines, which includes obtaining third party sustainability certification of either BuiltGreen Canada Gold, , , R2000 or achieving a minimum rating of 80.
Laurel Green is located south of 23 Avenue, between 22 and 27 Streets, just south of the new Meadows Recreation Centre. 102 lots (of the 166 Lots) sold through a Public Lot Selection Process. 64 lots have been sold to Built Green Certified Builders.

Sustainability Requirements are compulsory and every home being built on the City owned lots in Laurel Green much achieve certification from a third party rating program.
Solar Ready means that your builder/contractor has installed two conduits from the mechanical room up to the attic and there is enough space on the roof for you to install solar panels (to provide domestic water heating and to generate electricity) in the future should you decide to do so. Laurel Green Building Grant
The City of Edmonton is also offering a Green Building Grant of up to $7,000 for homes that achieve an Energuide rating of 82 and above.
