Notice to Vendors

To ensure a fair application process to as many vendors as possible the City of Edmonton Vending Program will be running the First Come First Serve (FCFS) Permit option on the 15th of the month starting on May 15. Vendors are permitted to apply monthly for the FCFS option. The First Come First Serve (FCFS) application opens from the first of the previous month to the 15th of that month. For example, the application for June opens from May 1 to May 15 and so on.

Vendors with one unit are required to select one permit option
Vendors with two units can enter one unit into First Come First Serve (FCFS) and one into Assigned Vendor Locations (AVL)
Vendors with three or more units can enter one unit into each pilot, all other units may obtain street roaming permits

Park Locations

The following First Come First Serve (FCFS) park locations are included in all FCFS permits - vendors that receive a FCFS Park Permit will be permitted on a first-come, first serve basis to vend at any of the 21 spaces within 19 park locations at the FCFS vendor stall designated in each park.

Permit Fees and Deadlines

The First Come First Serve (FCFS) Park Permits will be $134.37+GST for the one month FCFS park roaming permit and are issued as monthly permits.

* Deadlines must fall on business days.

If there are more than 21 applicants for the FCFS permit in a given month, the total number of applicants will be run through a random selection draw to pull 21 vendors that may obtain the FCFS permit option.

Those vendors that receive placement will be contacted within the 3 following business days to submit payment of their permit.

Those vendors that do not receive placement in the FCFS month option will be notified within the following 3 business days.

Vendors that are selected but do not complete payment within the time frame provided will be withdrawn and the random selection process will run again for others that applied.

Only approved vendors will be considered for the Approved Vendor Locations or First Come First Serve pilot programs. If you do not appear on the approved vendors list, your application will be considered invalid. To apply to become an Approved Vendor, please email streetvending@edmonton.ca to begin the process.

Vendors with multiple units can apply for two park pilots - one unit in each type, the Assigned Vendor Locations (AVL) and the First Come First Serve (FCFS). Vendors with more than two vending units will not have their additional vending units considered.

Vending units are to be a maximum total length (including truck/trailer combinations) of 12.5m and weight of 8000kg.

Sidewalk Carts (Food Carts) are not eligible for the park pilot programs. Sidewalk carts have their own permit category for sidewalk vending location specific permits.

Civic Events & Festivals

There may be special events or festivals occurring in some of the listed park locations - this may lead specific dates being removed as an option for individual vending. The impacted locations will be evaluated in conjunction with running the random selection draw. Civic events and festivals have priority placement in parks.

Vendor Acknowledgement

Required

I understand that making an application for the First Come First Serve Vendor Location Pilot Program does not guarantee that I will receive a placement. I acknowledge that if there are more than 21 applicants per month that selection will be done through a random selection process. I understand that only those vendors that have the required vendor documentation valid for the duration of the one month period will be considered eligible.

Required

I understand that only approved vendors will be eligible for the First Come First Serve permits. Vendor that are not on the approved vendor list and make an application will be notified of their requirements and offered the chance to reapply for the following month.
