Group B, Division 1 — Detention
Contains persons who are restrained from or are incapable of evacuating to a safe location without the assistance of another person because of security measures not under their control.

- Psychiatric hospitals, care facilities (for example, for persons with dementia) containing detention quarters
- Police stations with detention quarters
Group B, Division 2 — Treatment
Contain provisions for treatment, and where overnight accommodation is available to facilitate the treatment. Treatment means the provision of medical or other health-related intervention to persons, where the administration or lack of administration of these interventions may render them incapable of evacuating to a safe location without the assistance of another person.

Group B, Division 3 — Care

Group B, Division 4 — Home-Type Care
Where residents are provided support services (other than treatment) at a cost,

consecutive hours.

Contains sleeping accommodation for persons who are not receiving care or treatment and are not involuntarily detained.

- Self-serve laundries, self-serve dry cleaners not using flammable or explosive solvents or cleaners
- Police stations without detention quarters
- Small tool and appliance rental and service establishments
Group E — Mercantile
Displaying or selling of retail goods or merchandise.
- Department stores, exhibition halls
- Supermarkets, markets, stores, shops, retail
Group F, Division 1 — High Hazard Industrial
Contains sufficient quantities of highly combustible and flammable or explosive materials which, because of their inherent characteristics, constitute a special fire hazard.
- Distilleries
- Spray painting operations
- Waste paper processing plants
- Dry cleaning plants using flammable or explosive solvents or cleaners
- Paint, varnish, lacquer, pyroxylin product factories
- Chemical manufacturing or processing plants
- Flammable liquids or hazardous substances bulk plants and/or storage warehouses

Group F, Division 2 — Medium Hazard Industrial
Contains combustible content greater than 50 kg/m2 or 1,200 MJ/m2 of floor area and not classified as a high-hazard industrial occupancy.
