May is Asian Heritage Month: an opportunity to honour and celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Canadians of Asian heritage.

Edmonton is home to many residents from East, South, Western, Central and Southeast Asia, whose heritages, languages, ethnicity and cultures enrich our city. That diversity is one of our strengths and a vital part of what makes Edmonton a great place to live. During the month of May and always, we celebrate these diverse and growing communities and their contributions to the vibrancy and progress of our city.

Asian Heritage Month is also an opportunity to learn more about the history of Canadians of Asian descent and to reaffirm your commitment to combating anti-Asian racism and discrimination in all forms. Learn more about how the City of Edmonton is addressing racism through its Anti-Racism Strategy and contributing to the revitalization of Chinatown, as well as key Asian heritage moments in the history of Canada.
