Information about the renovated Entry Plaza and its surrounding facilities at the zoo.
The entry area has dramatically changed the visitor experience when arriving at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The Entry Plaza provides easy and direct access to all of the Zoo's exhibits, including the new river otter habitat, a new state-of-the-art education facility, and guest services including, a cafe, rest areas and a water feature play structure. The EdVenture Lodge education centre, located in the Entry Plaza, includes interpretive classrooms and multi-purpose spaces.
The Entry Plaza also provides guest services: information, washrooms, ticket purchase windows, Prairie Catering, Zoo-tique and administration offices.
In line with the City of Edmonton's vision to build smarter with sustainable principles in mind, the Zoo's new plaza buildings take advantage of natural light and air ventilation, and feature green technologies that leave a small ecological footprint on the natural systems and wild places that our zoo is working hard to conserve.
