A

Accessibility

Commonwealth Stadium has limited accessible parking, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Commonwealth Stadium is wheelchair accessible. DATS service is welcome. Gates 2, 6, and 11 are wheelchair accessible. An elevator is available at Gate 11. Covered spectator spaces are available for wheelchair users; an attendant and two family covered spaces are available as well. Tickets must be purchased for these seating areas. Accessible washrooms and family change rooms are also available.

AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

There are two AED units located in the Stadium which members of the public can access in case of emergency. They are located in the East and West concessions.

Alcohol Policy

All guests who appear under the age of 25 will be required to show valid government-issued ID to purchase alcohol. Guests serving alcohol to minors will be subject to arrest. Alcohol may not be brought into the stadium. Guests attempting to bring alcohol into the stadium will be denied entry or removed. Any guest that is denied entry or removed for any violation of facility rules will not be issued a refund.

An alcohol policy is in effect to assist with responsible consumption. Individuals who appear to be intoxicated will be removed from the premises in a taxi or with a sober family member or friend. Drunk and disorderly behaviour may also result in arrest and prosecution. Members of the Commonwealth Stadium staff and Edmonton Police Service are available to assist at all times and the public is asked to report any unacceptable behaviour.

Animals

Animals are not permitted in Commonwealth Stadium with the exception of service animals and service animals in training.

ATMs

Bank machines are located in the East and West concessions.

Baby Changing Stations

Baby changing stations are located in all women’s washrooms throughout Commonwealth Stadium. There are also family washrooms available near Gate 2 and Gate 9.

Bag Policy

All bags are subject to inspection upon entry and are subject to additional inspections within the stadium. Please have your bag open ready for inspection before entering the gates.

Banners/Signs

Signs must be handheld, event-related, in good taste, and cannot obstruct another guest’s view. They may not contain commercial messages, logos or political endorsements, or profanity. They may not be hung from affixed stadium structures.

Signs on sticks or poles, or constructed of wood or metal material, are also not permitted. Management reserves the right to confiscate signs that are in violation of stadium policy.

Bike Racks

Bike racks are available at Gate 2, Gate 6, Gate 9 and Gate 13.

Brickley's Knothole Corner

This family-oriented area is located in and around Gate 2, and opens one hour before kickoff for every Edmonton Eskimos home game.

This special section includes interactive children’s games, stroller check, face painters, an information booth, a dedicated family merchandise store, family friendly inflatable games and game-specific entertainment during all Eskimos home games.

Single game tickets in Brickley’s Knothole Corner, located in sections BB and CC (near the family area in the lower bowl), are just $12 for children (aged 12 and under) and $32 for adults. Single game tickets for games versus Calgary and Saskatchewan are $16 for children and $36 for adults.

Cameras

Still cameras (non-professional, 200 mm lens or smaller) are permitted for Eskimos games. Please note, additional restrictions may be in place for live concerts.

CFL (Canadian Football League)

The Canadian Football League is a professional sports league in Canada. The CFL is the highest level of competition in Canadian football, a form of gridiron football closely related to American football.

Child Safety

A child safety wristband program is available at the Information Booths on the East and West concourse of Commonwealth Stadium to help reunite lost children with parents/guardians.

Concessions

Concessions open 1 hour prior to the start of Eskimos games. Cash or credit cards are accepted. Bank machines are located in the East and West pods.

Coolers

Food coolers are not permitted at Eskimos games and major stadium events. You may bring in small amounts of snack foods, with the exception of peanuts in the shell.

Courtesy Phones

A number of courtesy phones are available for guest use. Phones are located on the east and west sides of the concourse.

Drop-off Zone

The curb lane on 112 Avenue eastbound from 95 Street to Stadium Road is a dedicated drop off and pick up location.

E

Edmonton Eskimos

Elevators

There is an elevator located at Gate 11 to grant access from the ground level to the stadium Concourse.

Emergencies/Evacuations

Should there be a need to evacuate the stadium for any reason a message will be played on the PA system informing all how to proceed. Security, ushers and EPS will work to make certain that everyone remains safe and makes their way to the designated areas depending on the severity of the emergency. Spectators will be called back into the stadium (seating) once the emergency has been resolved with the aid of PA announcement.

Exit/Re-Entry

Guests wishing to leave Commonwealth Stadium during an Eskimos game but planning to return during the same game must have their ticket and hand stamped by security prior to exiting. Only guests with both a stamped valid ticket stub and a stamped hand will be granted re-entry. There is a no re-entry policy for concerts and live entertainment events.

F

Family Zone (Save-On-Foods Family Huddle)

The Save-On-Foods Family Huddle is an alcohol-free, general admission section at Commonwealth Stadium during Eskimos home games.

Please note: the purchase location for Family Huddle tickets is Save-On-Foods. Regular-season games are $27.50 (plus fees and taxes). Playoff games are $28.50 (plus fees and taxes). Get yours at participating Save-On-Foods in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Find a store near you.

Seating in the Save-On-Foods Family Huddle is located on the lower deck in sections PP, QQ, RR and on the upper deck in sections AA, BB, QQ and RR. Please call 780-448-3757 for accessible seating options.

Fan Fest

Your game ticket gets you free admission to the Coors Light Fan Fest. It’s located east of the stadium and the gate opens two hours prior to kickoff. Must have photo ID to enter.

First Aid

St. John Ambulance attendants provide first aid throughout the stadium. First Aid tents are set-up on the concourse during Eskimos games and major events. If you require first aid, you can notify a Commonwealth Stadium staff member and they will radio a First Aid Attendant to provide assistance.

Flags

Flags must be handheld, event-related, in good taste and cannot obstruct another guest’s view. They may not contain profanity, commercial messages, logos or political endorsements and may not be hung from affixed stadium structures. Flags that are in violation of stadium policy may be confiscated by management.

Food and Beverage Policy

For Edmonton Eskimos games, guests are permitted to bring food into Commonwealth Stadium for individual consumption.

Outside food cannot be brought into any suite. Guests must also adhere to the following:

  • All food items should be wrapped, bagged, or left inside a container to avoid spillage.
  • Food that might be thrown as a projectile must be sliced or sectioned (i.e., oranges, apples and other fruits).
  • Food containers must be soft-sided and small enough to fit under the guest's seat. Plastic water bottles (one litre or less), juice boxes, and thermoses are permitted.

The following are not allowed: glass bottles, pop or beer cans and two liter plastic bottles.

Commonwealth stadium offers a variety of food and beverage options sold through the many concessions located on the east and west concourses.

Gate Opening Times

Gate opening times will vary on an event-by-event basis. For Edmonton Eskimos games, all gates open one hour prior to the start of games.

Guest Conduct

Commonwealth Stadium is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. Guests who interfere with play, use foul language, make obscene gestures, smoke, or appear to be impaired may be ejected.

For your convenience, customer service attendants and ushers are located throughout the stands before and during the game.

There are two information booths in operation for Eskimos games. They are located on the east and west concourse.

Jackie Parker Room

Located in the West Pod, the Jackie Parker Room is open to the public during all Eskimos games and available on non-game days for private bookings. This space features a salute to the history of the Eskimos franchise and food and beverage options for ticket holders.

K

Brickley's Knothole Corner

This family-oriented area is located in and around Gate 2, and opens one hour before kickoff for every Edmonton Eskimos home game.

Lost and Found

All lost and found items will be taken to the information desk at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre after the event.

For questions about lost items during the concert, please ask any Commonwealth Stadium staff member. To contact the information desk please phone 311.

Lost Children/Adult Guests

If a guest has become separated from his or her party, individuals looking for the lost guest should be escorted directly to the information booth, located on the east and west concourse.

If you find a lost child or lose a child, feel free to ask any Commonwealth Stadium staff member for assistance, or proceed to an information booth.

LRT

Edmonton Transit offers light rail transit (LRT) service to Commonwealth Stadium from 15 locations in Edmonton. Fares are $3.25 one way or a $6.50 round trip can be purchased.

The LRT is free two hours prior to kickoff and two hours post-game when you show your Eskimos ticket.

Media Access

The Bryan Hall Media Centre is located on the west concourse of the stadium.

Merchandise

There are merchandise outlets available in the east and west pods inside the stadium and outside of the stadium by Gate 9 for Eskimos games. The Team Store is also open on game days and Monday through Saturday. Merchandise sales for concerts and live entertainment events vary.

Noisemakers

Please show respect for your fellow fans when using noisemakers. Such devices may be confiscated at the discretion of management.

P

Parking

There is NO parking on-site at Commonwealth Stadium during CFL games and major events. Public transportation is highly encouraged. Parking restrictions are in effect in the neighborhoods that surround Commonwealth Stadium during major events. Only residents with valid permits will be permitted to park in these areas. Vehicles in violation of the residential parking restrictions will be tagged and towed. We ask all guests to be courteous and respect the neighborhoods that surround Commonwealth Stadium.

Northlands Parking

$10 for Season Seat Holders and $16 for the general public.

Neighbourhood Parking

Residential parking restrictions are in effect during major stadium events. Please park legally and treat the community like it’s your own.

Residential Parking Ban

Football games are classified as major events therefore, a residential parking ban goes into effect for every home game. Parking is restricted on all signed streets from the start of the game and for the next two hours. Any vehicle not displaying a valid residential parking permit will be tagged and towed at the owner's expense.

Please Note: Parking is restricted around Commonwealth Stadium and the LRT Station. Signs are posted at these locations.

Party Decks

Get your general admission tickets in the brand new Coors Light Party Deck and Bacardi Party Deck. These limited-seating, standing party areas are located in the lower-bowl end zone for a game experience like no other.

Pay Phones

There are two pay phones located on the west concourse. There are numerous courtesy phones located throughout the concourse.

Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited at Commonwealth Stadium:

  • Weapons of any kind
  • Glass bottles, pop or beer cans and two liter plastic bottles
  • Peanuts in the shell
  • Outside alcoholic beverages, narcotics and other illegal substances
  • Video cameras and recording devices
  • Professional grade cameras and tripods
  • Pets (service animals are permitted)
  • Large umbrellas and umbrellas with a point on the end (discretion of Commonwealth Staff)
  • Air horns, megaphones, whistles
  • E-cigarettes and regular cigarettes
  • Laser pointers/pens
  • Coolers
  • Rods, dowels, and hockey sticks
  • Beach balls
  • Any other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate
Public Transportation

Park and Ride

To board ETS Bus Park & Ride, show your Eskimos ticket on your way to the game and your ticket stub for your return trip to ride for free.  For LRT, keep your game ticket or stub with you as your proof of payment if requested by ETS staff. For regular bus service, show your ticket when boarding going to the game and your ticket stub for your return trip.

Non-stop direct service to every Eskimos home game is available from six different areas of the city:

  • Lewis Farms
    1021 Webber Greens Drive
  • Kingsway Mall
    Kingsway Avenue and 109 Street
  • Burns City
    70 Street and 121 Avenue
  • Calder City
    124 Street and 124 Avenue
  • Davies City
    86 Street and 61 Avenue
  • Millwoods
    66 Street and 23 Avenue

Use the Park & Ride location that’s best for you and ETS will get you to the game. All Park & Ride lot service begins 90 minutes before game time.

LRT Service

LRT service is increased for every Eskimos game.  Catch the LRT to Stadium Station and walk across the street to the game.

Regular Bus Service

Route 2: West Edmonton Mall, Downtown, Stadium, Highlands.

Travel from West Edmonton Mall Transit Centre, Jasper Avenue or Highlands to the Stadium LRT station. Weekend and evening service runs every 30 minutes.

Transit information for Esks games is available 24-hours a day by calling 780-496-1600 from a touch tone or cellular phone. Information is also available at takeETS.com/Eskimos.

Q

Quarterback Club

Located in the east pod, the Quarterback Club is open to the public during all Eskimos games and available on non-game days for private bookings. This space features a state of the art media wall and food and beverage options for ticket holders.

R

Re-Entry

Seating Capacity

Commonwealth Stadium can hold 56,302 spectators. It is the second largest stadium in Canada, after Olympic Stadium in Montreal, and the largest open-air stadium in Canada.

Security/Crowd Management

The stadium employs security staff to monitor the safety of spectators that attend events at the stadium. Security is responsible for doing bag checks and random pat downs at the entry gates, monitor both prohibited and restricted items and actions, oversee the alcohol license requirements and make the stadium a safe place to come and enjoy an event. They are identified by the dark green polo shirt or yellow jacket depending on the weather. Security, ushering and Edmonton Police Service work together to monitor the crowds inside the stadium and take the appropriate actions to ensure an enjoyable time for all.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is prohibited on stadium property, including e-cigarettes and chewing tobacco. There is a designated enclosed smoking area outside of Gate 7 and Gate 8 which is located at the north end of the Stadium beside the video board.

Strollers

Stroller parking is available at all information booth locations and Knothole Corner. Commonwealth Stadium is not responsible for any missing, lost, stolen or damaged items while checked.

Small strollers are permitted in the stands (must fold and be able to be stored safely under your seat).

T

Tailgating

28 pre-game spots are available in Lot A and afford fans the opportunity to join in to this fashionable game day ritual.  Spots are bookable by contacting the Eskimos team store.

Taxi Stand

A taxi stand is located on 86 Street and 112 Avenue.

Team Store

The Eskimos Team Store is located at Commonwealth Stadium (enter through the recreation centre). Gear up for game day or get a little Green and Gold in your every day.

Ticket to Ride Program

Fans that have purchased their Edmonton Eskimos game day ticket in advance qualify under the Ticket to Ride program. Your game day ticket is valid on LRT or regular ETS bus service for two hours before the game, during the game, and two hours after the game ends.

It’s also your ticket to ride on ETS football Park & Ride service. The Ticket to Ride program is collaboration between The City of Edmonton and the Edmonton Eskimos to reduce football parking pressure in the surrounding neighbourhoods, reduce traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety around Commonwealth Stadium. It’s good for the environment, and considering the current price of gas, it’s good for your wallet too. Enjoy the game, and remember to keep your ticket stub for your return trip.

If you're buying your ticket at the gate, regular ETS fares apply for travel to the game. Keep your ticket stub for a free ride home after the game. ETS tickets, monthly passes and transfers are also valid on ETS Park & Ride service.

Ticketing

Tickets on game day can be purchased in person at the Eskimos Team Store up to one hour prior to game time. Beginning 90 minutes prior to kick-off, tickets can be purchased at any ticket booth at the stadium.

Tickets can also be purchased at any Ticketmaster location or online at Ticketmaster.ca. Tailgate tickets or tickets purchased through Ticketmaster over the phone or via internet may be picked up at Will Call located at Gate 13 on the Southeast corner of Commonwealth Stadium. Will Call opens 90 minutes before kick-off and photo identification is required for ticket pick-up. For more information, visit Esks.com's Tickets page.

Umbrellas

Small retractable umbrellas are permitted (must not obstruct another guest’s view).

Ushers

Each section in the stadium is staffed by ushers who are there to assist with everything from general event info to ticketing and wayfinding questions. Our staff are there and happy to assist no matter how big or small the task. Ushers can be identified by their bright yellow vests.

Video Cameras

Guests are welcome to bring video cameras and other electronic recording devices into Commonwealth Stadium for their personal use during Eskimos games. Video recording at any concert or live entertainment event is strictly prohibited.

W

Washrooms

Washrooms are located conveniently throughout Commonwealth Stadium.

Weather Policy

CFL games and major events will continue rain or shine unless otherwise specified. Please come prepared for the weather.

Small pocket-sized and collapsible umbrellas without a point are permitted in the venue. Large umbrellas will be confiscated.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available at each entrance gate to the stadium. Please check with an usher if you require assistance.

Wifi / Internet

Free Wi-Fi is available for all spectators who attend events at Commonwealth Stadium. The Wi-Fi Network name is #TELUS. No password is required.
