Edmonton Police Constables Travis Jordan and Brett Ryan were murdered in the line of duty on March 16, 2023.

A regimental funeral for Constables Jordan and Ryan was held on Monday, March 27.
Thank you to everyone who visited City Hall or a police station to sign a condolence book. The condolence books have been removed and will be returned to the Edmonton Police Service to share with the families of the fallen officers.

As the regimental funeral service has concluded, we now begin a new stage of grief and healing. In support of the Edmonton Police Service’s protocols, over the coming days the City of Edmonton will begin to take down public signs of tribute and memorial.
Taking these items down in a respectful way, at the appropriate time, is an important way to show our respect. The City will be completing the following actions:
Crews will be working with the utmost care and attention, and will provide gifts and cards to the Edmonton Police Service. Flowers will be gathered and composted and any other materials will be recycled, if possible.
