Improving streetscapes to focus on a green and walkable Downtown will make it a more attractive and desirable place for people of all ages.

The vision for a green and walkable downtown includes improvements to downtown streets that will make Downtown more accessible, easier to navigate and more pleasant for pedestrians.

Streetscape improvements may include wider sidewalks, more trees, street furniture, pedestrian wayfinding signs, and higher-quality paving materials.

These improvements will encourage more people to use the streets for walking and cycling. The Downtown will be a more attractive, safe, and desirable place for people of all ages.

Streetscape improvements will be constructed over the next 15 to 20 years.

Downtown Streetscape Manual

The design of future streetscaping projects in Downtown and the Quarters Downtown will be guided by the Streetscape Design Manual for Downtown and the Quarters Downtown. This document establishes a framework for how Downtown sidewalks should be designed and constructed, and identifies street furnishings that complement their character.
