Master Composter Recyclers are community advocates for waste reduction. These volunteers help Edmontonians reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost.
This is a "learn and serve" volunteer program. It includes both training and volunteering in the community.
Master Composter Recyclers (MCRs) are skilled volunteers who influence friends, family, neighbours and coworkers to take specific actions that reduce waste.
Successful Master Composter Recyclers are:
Volunteers complete 35 hours of training over 8 classes from March to May, with 1 follow-up class in June.
Training includes classroom sessions, virtual classes, facility tours and hands-on activities.
Note: A Police Information Check may be required for this role
All City of Edmonton Volunteers are required to show proof of COVID-19 Vaccination (Administrative Policy A1701)
Master Composter Recyclers are self-directed volunteers. There are many volunteer activities to fit the skills, interests, and availability of each volunteer. Each activity encourages Edmontonians to reduce waste.
