The City of Edmonton Commemorative Tree Program, part of the Legacy Program, allows citizens to pay tribute to a person or occasion by purchasing the installation of a tree in a public park.
A donation of $1,600 includes cost of selected tree, a bronze plaque, and tree maintenance.
- 1 tree - minimum size 50mm caliper. If your tree dies, we will replace it at our cost.
- 1 plaque and pedestal - wording chosen by you. If your plaque or pedestal gets damaged, it can be replaced at your cost.
Our suggestions of Common Tree Species can help you find the right tree for your commemorative planting.
Locations for planting may include all City parks with the approval of an Urban Planner. Neighbourhood parks, ornamental areas and community league sites may also be considered if requested but may not receive regular maintenance. Learn about other commemorative options through the City’s Legacy Program.
*Please note: Hawrelak Park, Louise McKinney Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, and the Muttart grounds are currently closed for planting of commemorative trees.
