You may contact a Municipal Prosecutor regarding your Bylaw Violation Ticket for several reasons, including asking for disclosure, requesting an adjournment, exploring a resolution, or asking a question.

If your next court date is within five business days, we may not be able to respond by then. If you do not receive a response from our office agreeing to your adjournment request, you or a designated agent must appear on your court date or you may be convicted in your absence.

If you do not receive notice from our office that your ticket: 
  • is withdrawn
  • your attendance is no longer required or
  • you do not send a signed copy of an agreed resolution before your court date
You, or a designated representative, must appear on your scheduled court date or you may be convicted in your absence.

Disclosure requests must be received a reasonable time before your court date. If your next court date is within the next two weeks, we may not be able to respond to your request before your court date.

Before we send you the requested disclosure, please note that you will need to provide proof of identification or proof of consent.


Please provide a detailed explanation of your reasons for requesting an adjournment. We may ask you to provide additional documents to support your reason.

Please indicate your availability for future scheduling over the next 6 months. Please note that trials are scheduled according to the Court's availability. We cannot guarantee that your matter will be adjourned to your preferred date.
