The approved Policy C599 was created to establish clearer rules and expectations for community amenity contributions. It will improve outcomes for communities and developers by increasing the transparency and predictability of the amenity contribution process.

The policy was developed through intensive collaboration with developers and community members, including:

  • 5 workshops with an advisory group comprised of infill developers, consultants and Community League representatives
  • 2 meetings with the Urban Development Institute
  • 2 meetings with the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues
  • 2 public engagement events hosted by the City
