Refined data collection and a better knowledge of the City’s asset base have provided a complete picture of the state and condition of Edmonton’s infrastructure. Prioritizing funding for infrastructure projects, however, is a challenge Council and Administration face, especially when comparing “hard” and “soft” assets, such as transit and parks.
The City has developed and refined a set of unique management tools to help Council and Administration better assess required infrastructure investments.

- Integrated Infrastructure Management Planning Framework
These innovative tools help Council and Administration prioritize investment levels in infrastructure to maintain and replace existing infrastructure while dealing with increased demands to support growth.
