- Create a deal that is specifically for the Shop Local campaign. Deals go live in tandem with the advertising campaign in September.
- Order your free media kit and receive physical and digital marketing assets you can use to connect your business into the City's advertising.
- Participate in the Shop Local Digital Marketing Workshop where you can access hands-on expert support to improve your digital presence and create your own tactics to leverage the City's advertising.
Benefits of Shopping Locally
Shopping local is easy as Edmonton is home to over 38,000 businesses, with 95% being small businesses. It’s also a key part of community building since for every $100 spent at a small business, $66 stays in the local economy.
Spending money at a local business is just one way to support our entrepreneurs. Other ways to show support include sharing content and engaging on social media, leaving a positive review and recommending stores to family and friends.
Ideas to Help People Shop Local
There are many ways to encourage customers to shop locally:
- Create incentives using social media
- Provide details on parking, bike locks and transit to help customers find you
- Create a business gift guide
- Offer curbside pickup and online ordering
- For service-oriented businesses, create an experience package or bundles
