Sir Winston Churchill Square and City Hall Plaza are flexible event venues that serve as a world-class festival site, a community gathering place and a start line for many runs and walks.
Book an Event
The spaces allow for many types of activities, programs and events and can host over 10,000 people.
To host an event, please submit a request at least 8 weeks before your preferred event date.
All events must be booked through Civic Events to:
- Confirm the site can accommodate your event
- Plan ahead for special services
- Alert you to any conflicts with other groups coming to the same site
- Inform you of any additional permits or permissions that may be required

Costs
Bookable spaces available at $42.25/hour
Civic services fees and additional permits vary. A Liaison will work to outline additional costs before hosting your event. Examples include:
- Electrical services
- Vending Permit
- Road closures services
- Custodial services
- Corporate Security
Accessibility
- Graded entry into the fountain and outdoor ice rink
- Accessible washrooms and fountain/skate change room

- East Formal Gardens - North — The gardens link both Sir Winston Churchill Square and City Hall Plaza. The north green space features the Madonna of the Wheat sculpture along with a friendship garden offering a respectful space for the raising of a tipi.
