Recognizing that COVID-19 represents an unpredictable and unique scenario that requires all Albertans to take measures to prevent the spread of the virus, the City has made the decision to close all Community and Recreation Facilities and Attractions effective Saturday March 14, 2020, at 6pm. This closure will be in place until further notice.

We want to assure you that we have a plan to accommodate you.

Memberships

Annual Recreation Centre and Annual Attractions Memberships

Will be extended for the time period from Wednesday March 11, 2020, until we reopen facilities. We will then add the appropriate number of days to the end of your membership.

Recreation Centre Continuous Monthly Memberships (monthly payments)

Will be put on hold. You will not be charged any future payments until we reopen. A prorated credit for March 11 to 31 will be placed on your account. When we do reopen your regular monthly payments will resume.

Recreation Centre Monthly Pass Holders

Will be extended from Wednesday March 11, 2020, until we reopen facilities. We will then add the appropriate number of days to the end of your membership.

Recreation Centre Multi-Admission Passes

Normally expire 2 years from the date of purchase. As a quality service gesture we will be extending all Multi-Admissions by simply adding one more year from the date of purchase.

Cancellations

If you would prefer to cancel your Annual Recreation Centre or Continuous Monthly Membership, please complete the Recreation Membership Cancellation Request form.

Program and Course Cancellations

As previously communicated, we have cancelled all our registered programs effective Saturday March 14, 2020, for the remainder of the Winter Program Season, through Saturday April 4, 2020.

We are in the process of completing these cancellations.

  • If on Saturday March 14, 2020, your program was ongoing, you will be provided with a prorated refund for the number of sessions not completed.
  • If your program was to start after Saturday March 14, 2020, you will be provided a full refund. As we work through the large volume of cancellations, we will be placing your credits on your account.
  • If you would prefer to receive a cheque refund you can make this request using the City of Edmonton Recreation Program Cheque Refund Request form.

Aquatic Programs that have a "pass/fail" component with them (such as swimming lessons), will have progress cards mailed out in the coming weeks.

Leisure Access Program customers may apply to the Leisure Access and Ride Transit Program by mail during this time. For cancelled programs and courses, customers will receive their eligible discount to be used again at a later date.
