Since 1995, Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) has operated the annual ETS Stuff a Bus campaign with its partners to help people who rely on the Food Bank during the holidays. Each year, in late November or early December, buses visit Edmonton Save-On-Foods locations, transit centres and LRT stations to collect non-perishable food and cash donations. These donations support Edmonton’s Food Bank — a United Way partner, and the Strathcona Food Bank, with the help of Strathcona County Transit.
ETS Stuff a Bus has collected over 500,000 kilograms of food and $460,000 in cash donations since inception to help feed Edmontonians in need. In 2018, 27,694 kilograms of non-perishable food and $22,030 in cash were collected from participating Save-On-Foods, transit centres and on the LRT.
ETS thanks all of its partners and the Edmonton community for their generosity in helping drive out hunger.
