In spring, the City clears debris and dust from roads, bike lanes and major pathways, making them cleaner and safer for all modes of transportation. The whole process can take up to 8 weeks, weather permitting.

Street sweeping parking bans are in effect Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm. Look for 'no parking' signs in your area and sign up for parking ban notifications and view the Street Clearing Map to know when a parking ban is in effect in your area.

Residents can help do their part by moving their vehicles and providing our crews plenty of room to work as we clean our city’s boulevards and streets.

Please note we do not collect addresses that have been entered using this tool.

Important Notice

Ticketing

If you’re parked on a road that is under a parking ban, you may be subjected to being ticketed. Vehicle owners will receive a $250 ticket.

The Traffic Bylaw 5590, Section 26.2 , also bans vehicles from parking in one spot for over 72 hours.

What You Need to Know

'No parking' signs will be placed in your area when street sweeping is taking place
Your area can take up to 5 days to be swept
Residential roads are swept between 7am-7pm on weekdays, while major roads are swept outside of those hours to try and minimize the impact on residents
Street sweeping happens once a year; please move your vehicles to help crews complete the work efficiently
You can be notified 1 day before the scheduled sweeping of your area by signing up for parking ban notifications at my.edmonton.ca

Street Sweeping Process

Crews first sweep boulevards and hard surface areas adjacent to roads and move sand and other debris into the path of street sweepers
The City has measures in place to minimize dust, but street sweepers can still create dusty conditions that reduce visibility. If you see dust, slow down and drive for conditions
Always give our equipment plenty of space - in front, behind and on both sides
When crews are scheduled to be in your residential area, please move your vehicles off the street so they can do a thorough job
If you have driveway ramps in front of your home, please remove them

Street Sweepings from Private Property

Street sweepings are not accepted from private parking lots or non-City or City-contracted equipment. These sweepings can be taken to the following locations:

Claystone Waste Beaver Regional Landfill

50117 Range Road 173, Ryley, Alberta
Sand with garbage or paper mixed in.

Call first to confirm acceptance 780-663-2038.

Clover Bar Sand and Gravel

Not currently accepting sand.
