Building a Project Vision Together
Thank you to everyone who shared their local knowledge, experiences and ideas for improvements during our Build a Project Vision Together Design stage of Boyle Street and McCauley’s neighbourhood renewal.
The online survey closed on January 4, 2021 and we appreciate everyone who took the time to participate. Input gathered will be used to confirm the vision and guiding principles for project decision making and provide direction and focus for design opportunities.
What we heard themes will be reviewed and considered along with technical findings and policy direction to focus on unique areas of opportunity within the 2 neighbourhoods. We will explore these areas and seek further public input during the Exploring Opportunities phase in early 2021.

Volunteer for Neighbourhood Renewal
We invite residents, business owners and others with an interest in improving Boyle Street and McCauley to participate in the Neighbourhood Renewal Community Committee.
The group will brainstorm design ideas, discuss how best to connect with residents and others and review communication materials. We expect about 8 meetings to be held between January 2021 and June 2022. Meeting times and days will be decided by the committee.
If you are interested or require more information, please contact the Project Coordinator for Boyle Street or McCauley.
About the Project
Neighbourhood reconstruction rehabilitates residential roads, replaces street lights, sidewalks, curbs and gutters and adds missing sidewalk links where possible. Other opportunities to improve how people walk, bike, drive and gather in the neighbourhood and how they enjoy City-owned parks and open spaces are also explored.
A series of public events will be scheduled by the project team which will give residents the opportunity to build a project vision and guiding principles together and provide regular feedback on the different stages of the project including design.
Cost sharing opportunities will be made available through the local improvement process for sidewalk reconstruction and decorative street light upgrades in the neighbourhood. Arterial roads and alleys are not included in the scope of work.
