Neighbourhood Renewal has begun in Belgravia. Please anticipate that the duration of construction in front of your residences may be up to 12 weeks (weather dependent).
The construction consists of removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb and gutter, streetlight replacement as required, and reconstruction and paving of the road.
About the Program
Neighbourhood Renewal began in Belgravia in 2017. The section of McKernan west of 114 Street will be reconstructed along with Belgravia’s Neighbourhood Renewal.
The rest of McKernan has also been chosen for reconstruction in spring 2017. More information about McKernan’s Neighbourhood renewal is available at Building Great Neighbourhoods – McKernan.
Neighbourhood reconstruction is a type of neighbourhood renewal that involves road reconstruction and repaving, as well as replacement of streetlights and reconstruction of sidewalks, curb and gutter. Alley renewal is not part of neighbourhood reconstruction.
It also includes the opportunity for two local improvements, sidewalk renewal and decorative streetlights.
A series of public open houses will be scheduled which will give residents the opportunity to view the design plans and discuss details with the Project Team. Details of those meetings will be available on this page.
Traffic Management and Trial Measures Map
Work has begun on four major projects in Belgravia: The End of the World Park, Neighbourhood Renewal, Community Traffic Management and Engage 106-76. This one construction project brings together the planning and feedback we received from many Edmontonians on each of the individual projects and we anticipate that it will be complete in Fall 2018.
