The City is upgrading 162 Avenue (between 139 Street and 142 Street) from a rural to an urban road. Along with the roadway improvement, the City is working with Canadian National (CN) Rail on plans to improve safety at the rail crossing and silence the train whistle.

Project Update - March 2019

We are nearing completion of the preliminary design and are moving toward creating detailed designs. Work and planning with CN Rail to improve safety at the rail crossing and silence the train whistle continue to move forward.

Utility work in the project area is expected to begin in late spring/early summer, with road construction expected to follow in 2020. Subscribe for project updates.

What We Heard Report

Public engagement is a key part of the process when the City undertakes neighbourhood projects. We ask you to get involved, share your thoughts and provide input for consideration as we move through planning and construction to urbanize 162 Avenue.

Through 2 engagement events in October 2018, attendees shared feedback which will be considered in the development of draft designs for the project.

As part of our commitment to report back, the What We Heard report provides a summary of this feedback.
