Public Hearing Procedures

Public Hearings for planning applications are being held remotely, and opportunities are being provided to allow the public to submit their comments/concerns either in writing or by registering to speak remotely.

To Submit Written Comments:

Submit before noon on the day before the Public Hearing. Email: city.clerk@edmonton.ca

To Register to Speak Remotely at the Public Hearing:

Complete the Request to Speak Form before noon on the day before the Public Hearing or call the Office of the City Clerk at 780-496-8178. Following registration, the remote City Council Statutory Public Hearing procedure will be made available to you.

6705 Ellerslie Road SW

A planning application (map) has been received to rezone 6705 Ellerslie Road SW.

The current zoning is Site Specific Development Control Provision (DC2).
The proposed zoning is for a revised Site Specific Development Control Provision (DC2).

The current DC2 Zone allows for a range of commercial uses. If approved, the proposed DC2 Zone will add Cannabis Retail Sales and Liquor Stores to the list of permitted uses on site.

A planning application (map) has been received for a property at 9076 25 Avenue SW. The purpose of this application is to rezone the existing Site Specific Direct Control Provision (DC2) to a new Site Specific Direct Control Provision (DC2)

This rezoning would add Cannabis Retail Sales as an allowable use in the zone. The proposed rezoning complies with the Summerside Neighbourhood Structure Plan.

The maps.edmonton.ca tool provides information on in-progress rezoning applications received before April 1, 2017.
To use it, follow these steps:
  1. Go to maps.edmonton.ca, and select "Zoning” from the menu
  2. Navigate to an area on the map or enter an address to search
  3. In the top right legend, select the green checkbox for “In progress rezoning applications”
  4. Information like the application date, status and a link to the current (more detailed) document(s) is shown in the box at the bottom of the page
