Help guide a rezoning proposal for the South Scona Parking Lot in the Queen Alexandra neighbourhood.

Public Engagement Activities

Pre-application Consultation

The City requires all applicants seeking direct control rezonings to undertake consultation before submitting a formal rezoning application for processing.

The applicant sent out pre-application notification letters on April 16, 2018 to surrounding landowners within 200 metres of the site, the Queen Alexandra, Ritchie and Strathcona Community Leagues, and the Old Strathcona Business Revitalization Zone, to solicit initial feedback about the proposal. This initial feedback was summarized by the applicant and submitted as part of their application.

Advanced Notice

City Planning sent out its advanced notification postcards on August 13, 2018 to surrounding landowners within 200 metres of the site, the Queen Alexandra, Ritchie and Strathcona Community Leagues and the Old Strathcona Business Association, notifying them that an application had been received and soliciting feedback.

Public Engagement Session

A Public Engagement session is currently being planned for fall 2018. Notifications postcards, newspaper ads and social media posts will be used to share more details about this event when they are available.

This engagement session will be another opportunity for anyone interested to learn more details about the proposal and provide feedback.

Public Hearing

City Council will make a decision about this application at a future Public Hearing which has not yet been scheduled. More information about Public Hearings and how to register to speak can be found on the Council and Committee Meetings webpage.
