Public engagement activities helping guide the rezoning, plan amendment, and text amendments for the Marquis Town Centre.

Extensive public consultation was held for the proposed Marquis Town Centre between 2011 and 2014 while the Horse Hill Area Structure Plan and Marquis Neighbourhood Structure Plan were being prepared.

Engagement History

May 9

Advance notices for this application were sent to 470 nearby property owners. As the proposed zoning was implementing the approved Marquis Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP), no additional public consultation was undertaken.

A public open house was hosted by the applicant in May, and one by Planning and Environment Services in June at the Horse Hill Elementary School.

During the NSP preparation when the town centre concept was developed, 2 stakeholder sessions were held as well as a session where participants discussed their vision for the future.
