Approved rezoning at 1010 17 Street NW to accommodate an EPCOR Water booster station.

A planning application was approved in the Laurel neighbourhood to rezone from an Agricultural Zone (AG) to Public Utility Zone (PU)

The purpose of the rezoning is to accommodate a booster station for EPCOR Water. The booster station is to improve water pressure to approximately 400-1000 lots in the southeast corner of Laurel and future southwest Aster neighbourhood due to the elevations of the development area. 

The building itself is very small and there will be little to no noise associated with the booster station during normal operation. Minimal traffic will be generated from the development. 

The approved rezoning conforms to the associated Laurel Neighbourhood Structure Plan (NSP) and the Meadows Area Structure Plan (ASP)
