Proposed Rezoning and Plan Amendment
A planning application (map) has been submitted for a property at 8120 93 Street NW.
This application proposes a plan amendment to remove the site from the boundary of the North Saskatchewan River Valley Area Redevelopment Plan.
The application also proposes rezoning the site from Metropolitan Recreation Zone (A) to Low-Rise Apartment Zone (RA7) to enable a low-rise apartment development, and from Metropolitan Recreation Zone (A) to Public Utility Zone (PU) to accommodate the existing drainage facility.
If approved, the proposed (RA7) Low-Rise Apartment Zone will allow for a 16 m high residential building (approximately 4 storeys) with limited commercial opportunities at ground level.
The applicant (City of Edmonton Real Estate) intends to develop a residential building on the subject site for permanent supportive housing. For more information about the intended development, visit the applicant’s web page.

From August 26-September 22, 2020, feedback was collected online through the new Engaged Edmonton online virtual engagement tool in lieu of an in-person engagement session.
Input from Edmontonians will be used to inform conversations with the applicant about potential revision to the proposal to address concerns or opportunities raised. Feedback will also be summarized in the report to City Council when the proposed rezoning goes to a future City Council Public Hearing for a decision.
