Proposed zoning changes to allow for development of a nordic spa near Fort Edmonton Park.

A planning application has been received to amend the text of the Zoning Bylaw, Appendix 1, (AN) River Valley Activity Node Zone.  

The proposed text amendment will accommodate the development of a nordic spa on a site adjacent to Fort Edmonton Park.

About The Application

The proposed text amendment is for changes to Appendix 1, (AN) River Valley Activity Node Zone.

This proposed text amendment would:

  • Add Personal Service Shops
  • Allow limited exemptions for Restaurant and Specialty Food Services Uses

The applicant’s intent is to develop a nordic-style spa on the subject site.

Edmontonians are invited to a drop-in engagement session to learn more about proposed zoning changes to allow for a nordic spa at 7000 143 Street NW. 

Date: Wednesday September 4, 2019 
Time: 5:30-8pm 
Location: Whitemud Equine Learning Centre Association, 12504 Fox Drive NW

The engagement session will be an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and share your views with the City and the applicant, B&A Planning Group.  Feedback will be summarized in a report to City Council when the proposal goes to City Council Public Hearing for a decision.
