A planning application has been received to amend the text of the Zoning Bylaw, Appendix 1, (AN) River Valley Activity Node Zone.  

The proposed text amendment will accommodate the development of a nordic spa on a site adjacent to Fort Edmonton Park.

About The Application

The proposed text amendment is for changes to Appendix 1, (AN) River Valley Activity Node Zone.

This proposed text amendment would:

  • Add Personal Service Shops
  • Allow limited exemptions for Restaurant and Specialty Food Services Uses

The applicant’s intent is to develop a nordic-style spa on the subject site. 

Public Engagement Session

Edmontonians were invited to a drop-in engagement session on September 4, 2019 to learn more about proposed zoning changes to allow for a nordic spa at 7000 143 Street NW. 

The engagement session provided an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and share feedback with the City and the applicant, B&A Planning Group.  Feedback will be summarized in a report to City Council when the proposed rezoning goes to a future Public Hearing for a decision.
