A rezoning application has been approved for property at 14540 72 Street NW in Kilkenny.

The development is on the west side of 72 Street NW, between 144 and 147 Avenues NW. The site is northwest of Londonderry Junior High School.

The approved proposal facilitates residential development with some supporting commercial uses. The residential component is comprised of row housing at ground level with apartment housing above.

The approved application rezones 14540 72 Street NW from Low Rise Apartment Zone (RA7) to a Site Specific Development Control Provision (DC2).

The site’s previous RA7 Zone permited residential development, including Row Housing and Apartment Housing, to a maximum height of 25 metres (approximately seven storeys).

Key Features of the Proposal

The approved DC2 Provision permits Apartment Housing and some small-scale, supporting commercial uses.

The approved proposal includes:

  • Up to 240 residential dwellings
  • A maximum height of 25 metres (approximately seven storeys)
  • Commercial uses limited to Child Care Services, Convenience Retail Stores, Flea Market, General Retail Stores, Health Services, Private and Public Education Services, and Specialty Food Services.
