Due to the COVID-19 situation there will be noticeable reductions in some services the City provides this season, including maintenance in parks, sports fields, roads, trails, and sidewalks. Edmontonians may notice longer grass, more weeds, litter, and a longer response time on maintenance notifications and other emergent needs.

As of May 25, 2020 Animal Care & Control will begin the intake of stray dogs and will continue to intake animals that are in distress, injured or sick (including pregnant cats and kittens under two months without a mother).
Until further notice, the ACCC will not admit healthy cats.
All services require an appointment and can be made by calling 311 or visiting edmonton.ca/pets. You must also make an appointment to pick up your lost pet.
The City is reopening the temporary off-leash pilot program effective June 15. Applications will be accepted after that date. Interested community leagues can go to edmonton.ca/offleashrink for more information.
Effective Saturday, May 16 Alex Decoteau and Paisley off-leash fenced dog parks are reopening for pets and their owners. Alex Decoteau off-leash dog park access will be restricted to a maximum occupancy of 15 people at all times.
Manning Village will remain closed due to maintenance.
To reduce the potential for virus transmission, we are not providing bags in any off-leash area or fenced dog park. The City reminds dog park users to bring their own bags and to pick up after your pet.
Please continue to practice physical distancing when you use off-leash areas and clean your hands after touching gates or latches, as these surfaces are not sanitized.
Peace officers will be monitoring the off-leash areas to ensure people continue to follow physical distancing and maximum occupancy rules.
The temporary Community League Rink Off-Leash Pilot Project is suspended for the 2020 season. We encourage residents to use any of the 41 open off-leash dog areas throughout the City. A full list of open off leash areas is available at edmonton.ca/offleash.
Edmontonians are reminded to use caution and follow physical distancing guidelines and practical recommendations when interacting in public spaces.
Please keep your physical distance; at least 2 metres from others, whether it's on trails, in parks, on stairs, or buying groceries. It’s important to follow physical distancing practices as outlined by Alberta Health Services.
Park Rangers and security personnel will be patrolling parks, staircases, and trails to support closures and physical distancing requirements.
