From September 12-27, 2019, multiple left turn lane movements are closed at the intersection of Rabbit Hill Road and Singer Gate/McLuhan Road due to road widening construction. Northbound Rabbit Hill Road to westbound Singer Gate, eastbound Singer Gate to northbound Rabbit Hill Road, and westbound McLuhan Road to southbound Rabbit Hill Road turn movements are banned.
About the Project
The widening of Rabbit Hill Road consists of constructing 2 new northbound lanes from Anthony Henday Drive to MacTaggart Drive. Construction includes excavation and placement of new curbs and gutters, sidewalk connections to bus stops, catch basin installation, gravel placement, asphalt paving and grind & overlay of existing road. Street lights and signal installation will be carried out, as required.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to take precautions in the area and keep clear of construction activities. Construction will involve short term access restrictions at Mullen Road, Mullen Way, McMulahan Road, Maynard Way and MacTaggart Drive to complete intersection work. Only one of these intersections will be restricted at a time, with signs and detours in place for advanced notice. All local access will be maintained.
This work is expected to last until October 31.
The City of Edmonton thanks motorists and pedestrians for their patience.
