Project Lifecycle - Concept Stage

About the Project

The City of Edmonton created a concept plan for the extension of Roper Road from 34 Street to 17 Street. In the long term, the roadway extension is necessary to provide a continuous linkage through the area and improved access to future development. The project is in the early stages – no funding or timelines have been established for when this connection would be constructed.

The concept planning work involved interested residents and business representatives located between 34 Street and 17 Street south of Sherwood Park Freeway and north of Whitemud Drive.  The concept plan identified the alignment for a four lane divided roadway, future intersection locations and points of access for the proposed extension of Roper Road within the Maple Ridge Industrial Area Structure Plan.
