About the Project

124 Street between 111 and 118 Avenue is a major commuter corridor and has been identified for renewal with construction tentatively scheduled to begin in 2021.

In September 2018, the City of Edmonton started the strategy phase of the 124 Street renewal project with the objective to take a comprehensive look at the study area to explore how the corridor meets various user needs, determine if upgrades / improvements are required, and to ensure the roadway meets current guidelines and safety standards.

There will be a series of public engagement sessions to collect feedback and validate feasibility of suggested improvements. This project will be delivered in coordination with the Inglewood Neighbourhood Renewal.

Upon completion of this strategy phase, the project will move into design and subsequent construction (subject to Council approval of funding for the next capital budget cycle 2019-2022).

Inglewood is Changing Open House - October 2018

On October 2 2018, the 124 Street Renewal project team participated in the Inglewood is Changing public open house to engage stakeholders to understand when and how they currently use 124 Street and what their expectations are for the future design.

Future Engagement

Public engagement will continue in winter 2018. The feedback received at the October 2, 2018 open house will be used to identify common themes and stakeholder priorities that will help inform the development of several design options that will be presented at the next open house in 2018.

In 2019, there will be additional engagement opportunities once the project moves into the next design phases.
