Project Overview

These projects will reconstruct three areas within the park, including the park trail from ACT to the tennis courts, the south park access road, and the North ACT staff parking lot and vehicle drop off. The reconstruction and roadway maintenance is intended to provide a quality parking surface and roadway that will serve park and recreation facility users for the next 20+ years.

  • To achieve this goal, this renewal will include the removal of the existing surface and base, rebuild base prep, and new asphalt surface in the ACT north parking lot.
  • The existing curb cuts and ramps will be evaluated and replaced/installed as required to meet accessibility requirements.
  • The Trail from ACT to the Tennis courts will be re-graded to resolve drainage issues and reconstructed to meet the current trail standards.

All three projects will be coordinated to best utilize time, resources and impact on the park site. Due to the nature of the ACT Aquatic and Recreation Centre, these projects must consider accessibility issues.
