Public Involvement Process Highlights
The City of Edmonton has initiated preparation of a master plan that will guide the use and management of Buena Vista/Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park over the next ten (10) years. Activities, results and reports
(in reverse chronological order)
August 31, 2012 - Concept Review Summary Report
The Design Team collected feedback from the public regarding three draft concept plans and design elements for the park via a Public Workshop on June 23, 2012 and an Online Survey held from July 14 –August 3, 2012. The summary report contains the combined results from both events.
July 14 - August 3, 2012 - Concept Review Online Survey
Based on feedback and input received, the Design Team developed a number of elements outlined in three draft concept plans for review, providing a range of options that fit within the vision for the park.
An online survey was conducted to gain feedback from the public regarding the three draft concept plans and design elements for the park. Based on the input received a draft master plan will be developed.
June 23, 2012 - Public Workshop
Three draft concept plans were presented providing a range of development options that fit within the park’s vision. The final concept will not likely be one of these concepts presented - rather it will likely be a combination of various pieces of any or all of the concepts.
We will take what we hear about the various pieces, and put them together into the draft final Master Plan.
April 20 to May 6th - Online Vision Survey
TheMaster Plan Design Team has taken input received from stakeholders and the public during past public consultations about the park , as well as the March 21, 2012 public visioning session, and crafted a draft vision statement that will guide the master plan design process.
A short, nine question online survey was conducted to allow the public to let the Master Plan Design Team know if the draft vision statement reflects their future vision for the park. Based on input, changes to the visioning statement may be made to better reflect what Edmontonians' envision for this dynamic park area.
