Ready, set, let’s roll with the official launch of the Downtown Bike Network!

We’re throwing a party to celebrate the amazing work that the community and City of Edmonton have accomplished. It’s your bike party and everyone’s invited.

Main Stage
Federal Building Plaza, 9820-107 Street

Kick off at the Legislature Grounds (Federal Building Plaza) with the opening ceremony at 11am, but come early to check out:

  • Opening Ceremony featuring Mayor Iveson, Andrew Ference, Amy Shostak and more!

  • Starting point for food bike tours presented by Food Bike Tours

  • Velofix mobile fix-it shop featuring bike how-tos (every 30 min)

  • Bike rentals by Revolution Cycle

  • Edmonton Bicycle Commuters merch booth

  • Alberta Health Services helmet demo

  • Sheriff Bike Patrols

  • Volunteer booth

  • Paths for People booth

  • Food trucks and music

Education Avenue powered by NorQuest College and the Bike Street Team
102 Avenue between 106-107  Street

Get schooled on your Bike-ology 101! Learn how to roll through the network and get expert advice on navigate all the new features on your bike.

  • The Bike Street team will be on hand to explain how to use the network, including giving free tours (12:30pm and 2pm)

  • Learn how to use the ETS bus bike rack

  • Stop by the Norquest table for some great giveaways

  • Chat with the Park Rangers

  • Get your bike tuned up by the EBC Bike Doctor sponsored by MLA David Shepherd

  • Grab a bite at a food truck and listen to some great tunes

Go Green with Blatchford and MacEwan University
SW corner of 105 Street and 105 Avenue

Enjoy the sweet (sustainable) life with bike games, music, local food and more.

  • Snap a selfie at the Blatchford photo booth

  • Taste some honey from the MacEwan beehives

  • Spin up a treat using the bike blender

  • Get your bike tuned up by the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters' Bike Doctor

  • Play games and win prizes with MacEwan's Office of Sustainability and Transportation

  • Stop by the tents for North Edmonton Business Association and the City of Edmonton Environmental Strategies

Urban Commuter Zone
The Armature, 96 Street between Jasper Avenue and 103 Avenue

Make bike shorts cool again while you do free HIIT classes, try on some commuter gear, and check out some demos by FISE athletes.

  • Step up to a free HIIT class presented by Blitz Conditioning
  • Check out the commuter gear from local shop Pillar Heights
  • Ride a demo with Revolution Cycle
  • Grab a tasty bite and listen to sweet tunes
Family Fun Zone
Downtown Edmonton Community League, 10042-103 Street

Bike decorating, music, games and more for the whole family!

  • Decorate the family squad's bikes with the Downtown Edmonton Community League

  • Test your mad bike skillz on the Sprockids Bike Obstacle Course (12 yrs and younger) presented by Giant Edmonton

  • Take a sip of some tasty Transcend Coffee

  • Give high-5s to the CASA Tour of Alberta mascot!

  • Jam out to some sweet tunes from a live DJ

Food Bike Tours

Take the tasty route by going on one of the FREE food tours presented by Food Bike Tours. Tours begin at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm, and start at the Main Stage. Pre-registration is sold out, but stop by the booth for last-minute tickets.

Outdoor Fitness

Presented by Blitz Conditioning and Integration Pilates, join one of the free High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), pilates and injury prevention classes at Urban Commuter Alley. Classes kick off at: 10am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.

No pedals? No problem.

We’re celebrating how the new Network will benefit cyclists, pedestrians and motorists alike. We’ll also have bike rentals available at the Main Stage. You'll need a credit card in order to rent a bike.

At every pitstop:

  • A food truck (or more than one!) and music
  • Info booth with volunteers explaining about the Downtown Bike Network
  • First Aid
