We’re throwing a party to celebrate the amazing work that the community and City of Edmonton have accomplished. It’s your bike party and everyone’s invited.

Cycle Passport Contest

How to Participate in the Cycle Passport Contest:

  1. Pick-up a Cycle Passport at any of the Event Information Booths, they are located at each Pit Stop along the network
  2. Travel the network and visit all five (5) pit stops
  3. While at each pit stop, check-in with the Event Information Booth to answer a trivia question about the Bike Network and Bike Safety
  4. Receive a stamp for answering the trivia question
  5. Once all five (5) pit stops have been completed, fill out the ballot information on the backside of the Cycle Passport
  6. Drop-off completed Cycle Passport to any Event Information Booth draw drum to be entered for chance to win

Cycle Passport Prizes Up For Grabs:

Grand Prize: Family Bicycles from Revolution Cycle (valued up to $1000)

Secondary Prize: Bicycle Backpack courtesy of Two-Wheel Gear

Official Contest Rules:

All participants understand and agree that the personal information provided for this contest will be used for the purpose of selecting and notifying contest winners.

All participants understand and agree that all personal information is collected under the authority of section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and is protected by the privacy provisions of FOIP.

To enter, simply submit an entry at the Cycle in the City Bike Party on August 26, 2017.

Ballots can be picked up at any information booth located at five (5) pit stops around the downtown bike network, Cycle in the City event:

All entries must include your first and last name, phone number and email address.

To be eligible, entries must be completed and received on or by 3pm MST on August 26, 2017 for the grand prize draw. Contest is open to residents of the Edmonton Capital Region. Incomplete ballots may be disqualified. City of Edmonton is not responsible for lost, misdirected or delayed entries.

The contest is sponsored by City of Edmonton.

To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.


There are 2 (two) Prize packages to be awarded. The prize packages are valued at no more than $1,000.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded. The Prizes may not be sold, transferred and are not convertible to cash. City of Edmonton reserves the right to substitute the Prizes in whole or in part in the event that the Prizes are unavailable.

On or after August 26, 2017 at approximately 4pm MST, a random draw for the Prizes will take place from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The first entry drawn on the draw date will be eligible to win the Prize.

The odds of winning a Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. City of Edmonton, acting reasonably, will attempt to contact potential winners by email within two (2) business days after the draw. In the event a potential winner cannot be contacted within 2 business days after the draw, he or she will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be drawn. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a winner, a potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by City of Edmonton staff.

Before being awarded a Prize, potential winner will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsors, a full release and indemnity form stating that he/she has read and understood these official rules and regulations ("Rules"), grants all consents required, authorizes City of Edmonton to broadcast, publish and disseminate his/her name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, nickname and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases City of Edmonton from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner's participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Prize.

In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, City of Edmonton shall have the right to disqualify a potential winner and draw an alternate potential winner and City of Edmonton shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. The provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and notification of a potential winner, if applicable, shall be applied, with the necessary amendments, until a qualified winner has been duly selected, but in any event, no later than September 15, 2017.

By entering this Contest the entrants and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these Rules. All decisions of City of Edmonton with respect to any aspect of this Contest, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding on all entrants in all matters as they relate to this Contest.

All entries become property of City of Edmonton who assumes no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected mail, or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting names of prize winners (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included).

The City of Edmonton does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials-data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the City of Edmonton in its sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its control, the City of Edmonton reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest including cancelling any method of entry, and select a winner from previously received eligible entries.

The City of Edmonton reserves the right to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The City of Edmonton reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner.

Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the collection, use and distribution of his or her personal information (information that identifies an entrant as an individual, such as home telephone number, age and home address) by the City of Edmonton for the purposes of implementing, administering and fulfilling this Contest. The City of Edmonton will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering this Contest. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.

Food Bike Tours

Take the tasty route by going on one of the FREE food tours presented by Food Bike Tours. Tours begin at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm, and start at the Main Stage. Pre-registration is sold out, but stop by the booth for last-minute tickets.

Outdoor Fitness

Presented by Blitz Conditioning and Integration Pilates, join one of the free High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), pilates and injury prevention classes at Urban Commuter Alley. Classes kick off at: 10am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.

No pedals? No problem.

We’re celebrating how the new Network will benefit cyclists, pedestrians and motorists alike. We’ll also have bike rentals available at the Main Stage. You'll need a credit card in order to rent a bike.

At every pitstop:

  • A food truck (or more than one!) and music
  • Info booth with volunteers explaining about the Downtown Bike Network
  • First Aid
