Chinatown celebration

This study aims to identify possible actions towards cultivating Edmonton's Chinatown into a sustainable and vibrant cultural destination. Consultation, collaboration and open dialogue with community partners will drive the strategy for the future we are building together.

Where We Are Today

From the first phase of the study, which involved a market assessment, surveys and community consultation, Proposed Economic Development Strategies were generated. These shaped the Economic Development Report which was shared with Executive Committee of Council on July 6, 2016. The recommendations were passed and planning is underway for phase 2.

Project Roadmap

Edmonton is a model for thriving neighbourhoods and communities that embody the best of social, economic, cultural and environmental business growth and practices. Strategies for the revitalization of Chinatown will reflect this vision.
