Through targeted engagement with community cultural groups, businesses, residents and stakeholders, the City has gathered information on the future of Chinatown. This feedback, enhanced by technical studies, has been evaluated to develop community supported strategic recommendations for Council consideration.

The final report, The Chinatown Strategy, is a framework of recommended actions supporting the future sustainability of Chinatown.  

Urban Interface Plan, April 2017 (33.4 MB)

This supporting document was developed to directly support the outcomes of the Economic Development Plan, enhance placemaking and strengthen connectivity.

Economic Development Plan, May 2016 (40.9 MB)

This study involved the review of current market conditions, stakeholder consultation and a best practices analysis from a selection of other North American Chinatowns.
