The River Crossing Business Plan is a key step toward advancing the River Crossing vision, which is to transform West Rossdale into a vibrant community and a special place for all Edmontonians.
The work involves preparing an updated redevelopment concept for West Rossdale that considers future land uses in the area, including a repurposed Rossdale power plant, as well as infrastructure requirements. The plan will also determine how best to implement the redevelopment concept. Building on previous studies, including the West Rossdale Urban Design Plan and Heritage Interpretive Plan, the plan will involve financial analysis and capitalize on the area’s city-building potential. The plan will identify public investment that can be staged over time and establish partnerships that will help make the plan a success.
In late 2017, staff began several phases of public engagement and outreach. At the end of each phase, the project team will report back on input that was received.
Workshop #3 - October 2018

- How do we draw people to River Crossing?
- How do we move to and through River Crossing?
- How do we make River Crossing a complete community?
- How do we steward River Crossing sustainably?
