Canada's Garden Route invites you to visit these three horticultural highlights in Edmonton.

Grounds of the Muttart Conservatory

This one of three Alberta Perennial Trials sites in Alberta to evaluate perennial plants to cultivate in Alberta's climate. Plants are monitored and measured over three years, and some of the successful graduates are planted nearby.

The Edmonton Horticultural Society, a group of avid gardeners, show off their skills with the colours and textures of the Annual Demonstration plantings.

With a little compost and some volunteer effort, Edmonton's Food Bank and the Master Composters grow vegetables in the Plant a Row/Grow a Row bed. The harvested food is distributed by the Food Bank.

The trees dotting the landscape show the diversity of Edmonton's urban forest. Many of the commemorative trees mark people and events of Edmonton's past.

Across the footbridge, the Centennial Garden commemorates the 100th anniversary of Alberta, Edmonton, and the Edmonton Horticultural Society. This garden is a partnership project planted and maintained by the Edmonton Horticultural Society.

Louise McKinney Riverfront Park

Across the North Saskatchewan River is Louise McKinney Park, one of Edmonton's newest parks. Amble along the Festival Lawn or enjoy sights of the river while resting on the Riverfront Promenade.

The Rose Garden shows off 30 varieties of hardy roses that thrive in Edmonton's climate.
The Chinese Garden is a work in progress in partnership with Edmonton's Chinese community. The garden features Chinese artifacts, sculptures, a bridge and pagoda.

Grounds of the Alberta Legislature

The Legislature Grounds features 56 acres of lawns, shrubs, and trees. Each spring over 100,000 annuals are planted in the gardens and the grounds are dotted with many monuments and points of interest.

The Lois Hole Memorial Garden is one of the newest features, located on the northeast corner of the building.
