Candidates and residents with plastic or cardboard election signs are encouraged to recycle them at:
Eco Stations
- Ambleside Eco Station, 14710 Ellerslie Road SW
- Coronation Eco Station, 11440 143 Street
- Kennedale Eco Station, 5355 127 Avenue
- Strathcona Eco Station, 5150 99 Street (Enter on 99 Street only)
Operating hours
In order to be recycled, signs must be taken apart.
- Metal frames go into the scrap metal recycling bin
- Plastic goes into the plastics recycling bin
- Cardboard goes into the cardboard bin
- Wooden stakes go into the garbage bin
Attendants will provide further direction as required.
Large signs must be cut into pieces no larger than 3’ x 3’ (1m x 1m).
There is no charge if the signs and frames are taken apart and recycled correctly. If the signs are not disassembled they will be classified as garbage and you will be charged regular disposal rates.
Edmonton Waste Management Centre

8am-5pm, Saturday, Sunday and statutory holidays
In order to be recycled, signs must be taken apart. Same directions as above for Eco Stations.
Recycling Depots
Only plastic and cardboard signs are acceptable for recycling at Recycling Depots.
No metal frames or wooden stakes should be brought to Recycling Depots. Large signs must be cut into pieces no larger than 3’ x 3’ (1m x 1m).
