Eco Station Accepted Items and Fees

Eco Stations accept household hazardous waste, appliances, electronics and large bulky items that can't be set out with your garbage or recycling.

Eco Station attendants have final say about accepted items and fees.

Payment methods accepted: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Debit and Cash.

Accepted Items - From Residents

Scrap Metal Includes: BBQs, bicycles, rebar, filing cabinets, plumbing fixtures, frying pans and other worn-out metal items	No charge
Styrofoam Includes: large Styrofoam pieces like blocks, packaging and coolers	No charge
Tires Includes: passenger vehicle, motorcycle and ATV tires	No charge
Yard Waste Includes: grass clippings, leaves, mulch, tree cones and needles, yard and garden trimmings, branches, roots, tree stumps and trunks Note: material must be loose or in paper bags. Plastic bags need to be emptied on-site	No charge
Household Garbage (Bagged) Note: drop off up to 2 bags for free. Bags must be see-through and cannot contain any recyclables, food scraps or yard waste, or fees will apply.	No charge - up to 2 bags $11 - up to 6 bags $21 - up to 10 bags

Accepted Items - From Businesses

Businesses (including junk removal companies) and other non-residential organizations can also drop off waste at Eco Stations. The accepted items and fees are the same as those listed for residents, with some important exceptions:

Hazardous waste is not accepted from businesses/non-residential organizations. This includes oil and other automotive fluids, paint, cleaning solutions, batteries, and all other poisonous, reactive, flammable or corrosive substances. This waste must be collected by a private hazardous waste hauler.

Ballasts containing PCBs are not accepted from businesses/non-residential organizations.

There is a fee to drop off light bulbs and fluorescent tubes (50¢ per CFL, $1 per tube) for businesses/non-residential organizations.
